Temporary suspension of Detective Wilson
Chief of Police Brian Manley determined that Detective Wilson's actions violated Civil Service Commission Rule 10.03 and suspended him from duty for 60 days, from February 22, 2020 through April 21, 2020. An internal Affairs' investigation revealed that while assigned to a collision investigation, Detective Wilson failed to properly examine evidence. This resulted in the arrest of an innocent person. Detective Wilson also failed to document his actions during the investigation, including the basis for the warrant.
Temporary Suspension of Officer Glenn Vargas
Chief of Police Brian Manley determined that Officer Vargas's actions violated Civil Service Commission Rule 10.03 and suspended him from duty for 5 days, from February 4th, 2020 through February 8th, 2020. Internal Affaris' investigation revealed that Officer Vargas made comments of an inappropriate and derogatory manner regarding another sworn officer while speaking to a Sergeant.
Written reprimand of Officer Ellis Schramm
Commander Bryant delivered a written reprimand to Officer Schramm for an incident in which he failed to properly secure an arrested person's belongings, leading to these items being lost. His actions were a violation of policy 618.6, Evidence Processing and Submission.
Formal complaint: Impartial attitude and courtesy and other policy violations
Complainant alleges that a police officer harassed him. The OPO recommends that this allegation receive a B classification.
Temporary suspension of Officer Julian Ogle
Chief of Police Brian Manley determined that Officer Ogle's actions violated Civil Service Commission Rule 10.03 and suspended him from duty for ten days, from January 18, 2020 through January 27, 2020. Internal Affairs' investigation revealed that Officer Ogle made comments of an inappropriate and unprofessional manner regarding a judge in the presence of two assistant district attorneys, including a reference to bodily injury of that judge.

Complainant alleges that a police officer was rude when he responded to the scene of an accident involving her son and attempted to intimidate both her and her son. The OPO recommends that this allegation receive a B classification.
Formal complaint: Incident reporting and other potential policy violations
Complainant alleges APD did not properly investigate his previously filed reports regarding fraud. The OPO recommends that this allegation receive a B classification.
Formal complaint: De-escalation of potential force encounters and other policy violations
Complainant alleges that APD officers may have used excessive force with her and her son, which "resulted with 3 of his teeth being knocked out." The OPO recommends that this allegation receive an A classification.
Formal complaint: Transporting arrested persons
Officer may have violated department policy by not maintaining visual contact with the suspect when the suspect was in the backseat of the patrol vehicle. The OPO recommends that this allegation receive a B classification.
